Lake Hartwell

Sunday, we headed to Lake Hartwell to the Nichols Family lake house.

This trip was very different than other trips to the lake, there were lots of kiddos there!

Mateo (3.5 years), Emmie (16 months), Fannie (12 months) & Katelyn Simmons (2 months)

We were so happy to finally meet baby Katelyn a.k.a. Jay's mini-me!

Just to note but I don't have a picture of it, Fannie ate her first pieces of a hot dog for lunch when we finally rolled in on Sunday. She loved it! The Slowsky's, in pure Slowsky fashion, had gotten to Spaghetti Junction when I remembered that the Pack n Play was still in the attic. I had even thought enough to pack one of the special sheets just not the bed. Minor Details. So we turned around and went back to get it.

Fannie and Daddy

How many Daddies does it take to put a life jacket on a baby?

Apparently two! Such good Daddies!

Fannie Bradley's First Boat Ride!

She was being cuddled as she nodded off to sleep! Typical.

Emmie & Miss Lindsey

Unfortunately, my pictures are scarce since I had my hands full while the daddy did this:

Lindsey took this picture because I spent most of the weekend inside the house tending to the Princess and her nap, snack and meal eating schedules!

Thanks for having us Nichols Family!

Hog Wild Pig Roast

Saturday afternoon of Memorial Day Weekend, we headed south to Culloden, Georgia.

We were invited by our dear friends Amanda and Frank Crane to Amanda's parents farm for their annual Hog Wild Pig Roast.

Once I stepped foot on the farm, I never wanted to leave.

Beautiful lake

Frank was in charge of the meat

There were even party favors! Embroidered hats, t-shirts and koozies!

That is a serious beer holster

These folks don't mess around!

I believe this is Oscar, a wild pig that was caught on the farm earlier in the week

John, Block and Cole

Children are invited but ours stayed back in the city this year

Great friends!

Cole, Block, Becca, Amanda, Frank, Kyle & John

Couldn't have said it better myself!

Need one of these for our house!

Dinner was set up buffet style and everyone brought a homemade side dish

The island was full of meat

You have never seen so much food!

This was the view when we were eating outside on one of the numerous decks and patios

The red and green striped field on the other side of the lake is where they grow sunflowers

After dinner, we preceeded to the barn

Looking into the barn

Happy Memorial Day

There were all kinds of big boy toys

The coolers were transported from the lake to the barn

After Dinner Entertainment

Live Music!

Daddy's were dancing with their daughters

These two were up to no good

Sippy Cup holder

Becca & Block enjoying the tunes

Since I didn't think John was quite ready to have his first tent experience with his outdoor loving bride

I took one for the team and drove us back to Atlanta!

Thank you Dr. and Mrs. Skilling, Amanda and Frank for a wonderful event at your gorgeous farm!

Braves Game

To celebrate our favorite Sailor coming to town, we ventured to the Braves Game with The Andersons. It was quite the adventure.

First stop had to be Moe's and Joe's in Virginia Highlands

Kristian and Caroline

Kyle and John

After a couple of pitchers of beer, some Sycamore Lake, boiled peanuts and MoJo Burgers we are ready to head to the stadium. As soon as we get into the car, the bottom drops.

We drive around Grant Park for a while trying to decide what to do and to see if the weather is going to let up when we stumble upon The Bullpen Restaurant.

You all have seen this restaurant before as it practically sits on the interstate. John claims he has eaten there before....

This was our view from the patio

We drank some beer and watched it pour. At least we were close to the stadium!

Finally, we decided to brave the weather and head into the game.

After chatting it up with Buck Belue (painful), we headed up to the 755 Club.

We got a table under cover so we could watch the game and stay dry!

These two were so happy to be together and it really showed!

Group Shot

(it's almost 11:00 pm by this point due to all of the rain delays!)

After they covered the field we decided it was time to head home!

After an hour rain delay they played the last 2 outs. Really? So glad we didn't stay for that!
Fun night and we can't wait to see Kristian the next time he is home!
