Baby Crack?

I am still not convinced....

Fannie Bradley lasted for about 7 minutes today, that is an improvement from her normal 3 minutes! It would help me get some things done around the house and I could blog more if FB enjoyed the bouncer!

Adrienne put Baby Stuart in the Baby Bjorn today, maybe I should try that too!

Thoughts on Fannie Bradley's First Month!

The baby girl that has taken over our lives and hearts turns one month old today. I cannot even believe it.

1. Good thing PINK has historically been my favorite color because it has taken over our house in the past month. I can't imagine what it would look like if we had known that we were having a girl!

2. Fannie sneezes are worth every second of three hours of pushing.

3. This little girl produces more dirty laundry than John and I combined. It is out of control.

4. Washing and sterilizing bottles is a 45 minute ORDEAL that has to be done once a day or baby won't have any nipples left.

5. There is nuttin' on television at 3 am so I have learned to have plenty saved on the DVR to get me through the hour long feeding PROCESS.

6. Everything is a PROCESS. Don't ask me to be anywhere before noon.

7. I have started making a list of the absolute must haves and the absolute do not buy just because it is one of Babies R Us' Top Registry Items.

8. Fannie Bradley is really really really long. All parts of her: fingers, toes, arms, legs and even her eyelashes!

9. I can't wait to get a bow in all of that brown hair. As a friend of mine recently said, "No bow, No go." Love it!

10. The Diaper Champ bag has to be changed every 36 to 48 hours. That is A LOT of dirty diapers.

11. My ankles have returned, for the most part.

12. Even babies get toe jam.

13. Fannie Bradley's nicknames, so far: Fanster, Baby Bird, Fussy Fannie, Beautiful, Little Wren's Nest, Love, Fancy Fannie, Baby Girl, Funny Fannie

14. She might as well be a clock. She knows when it is time to eat, 95% of the time, as she starts cooing and squirming around. When we do wake her up, she does a series of stretches that would put Jane Fonda and Richard Simmons to shame.

15. She is still sporting her umbilical cord stump. Strange. That will be question #1 for the pediatrician on Monday.

The past month has been MUCH easier than I thought it would be. Good thing since labor and delivery was MUCH harder than I had thought it would be (labor amnesia has not set in yet and until it does Fannie Bradley will be an only child, sorry Grandmothers!).

WE LOVE YOU FANNIE BRADLEY!

Fast Forward...

two years and add brown hair!

That is what we felt like when Miss Laurel Davis (23 months) came for a visit over the weekend.

She is such a cutie and so well behaved but SHE IS ALL OVER THE PLACE!

We got a glimpse of what our life will be like in two years when Fannie Bradley will be the same age and taking over the house. Well, she has already done that!

I was more exhausted watching Laurel for 45 minutes than I have been with FB!

Thanks for a fun visit and a yummy dinner Davis Family!

Fannie Bradley's First Boyfriend

Last Friday, FB and I went to visit Adrienne and Baby Stuart for a Cafe at Pharr take out lunch date!

It was so great to get these two babies together as they share the same birthday!

Just when I thought FB was finally putting on some weight, I picked up Stuart and he feels so much heavier than FB! She is just long and lean. I can't wait to see what her stats are at her one month appointment with the pediatrician on Monday.

It will be fun to watch these two May 19th babies grow up!

Oh and from what I hear, Roe Williams may be jealous that Stuart got the first date with Miss Fannie Bradley. ;)

The New Saturday Night

....cutting baby's finger nails (for the first time!)

for the record, the daddy volunteered to do this!

I contemplated taking her to Hammond Nail and Spa for a mani/pedi.

5 Years

It was five years ago today, June 10, 2004, that I started working in residential real estate at Jenny Pruitt and Associates. My last day at SunTrust was June 8, cleaned out my desk on June 9 for a few hours and started a totally new profession the next morning. And now, I officially work for Harry Norman, Realtors. Both companies have been owned by Warren Buffet's Home Services of America for a few years now, so it was only a matter of time before the two became one. Harry Norman is a great company with alot of history in Atlanta. It is a great move for all those involved but I am more fond of the teal than the brown!

A lot has happened in five years. I started Jenny Pruitt with a boyfriend of almost two years, got engaged a year later, got married a year after that and now three years later have welcomed a sweet baby girl into the world. My Jenny Pruitt family has really seen me grow up and have watched my life evolve!

And the friends I have made there are __________.

(insert most endearing adjective you can think of)

Some very positive news has recently been announced. HomeServices of America, Inc., a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway purchased Jenny Pruitt & Associates, Realtors® in 2001 and subsequently purchased Harry Norman, Realtors® in 2006. After a great deal of consideration, it has been determined that a merger of the two companies is a logical and smart decision for the continued success of both organizations.

These two longstanding, esteemed Atlanta brands, are joining forces to create the number one powerhouse in Atlanta’s residential real estate market. Our new combined company will retain the name of Harry Norman, Realtors®, an Atlanta real estate tradition and the first exclusive residential firm in Atlanta founded almost 80 years ago.

Our recent alliance has grown stronger and will have unprecedented strength and breadth - as both firms bring the highest caliber of residential real estate professionalism to all aspects of the business. With more than 1,300 talented professionals throughout the greater Atlanta area to serve you and your real estate needs and the largest volume sold market share in the region, we can make things happen for you.

We now have an enviable and unequalled position of strength and efficiencies in the marketplace. Most importantly, we continue to be backed by the far-reaching and solid resources of HomeServices of AmericaTM and the inherent strength of Berkshire Hathaway, our parent company, led by the legendary Warren Buffett. We also continue to be affiliated with Christie’s Great Estates®, the nation’s most prestigious luxury real estate firm, Leading Real Estate Companies of the WorldTM, Luxury PortfolioTM and Who’s Who in Luxury Real EstateTM.

We look forward to serving you with the backing of the very best names and resources in the real estate industry. Already we are estimating that results for the first quarter of this year will show an uptick in sales activity. It’s business as usual and you can expect the same outstanding service that you are accustomed to and so deserve.

We value you as a client and very much appreciate your confidence in us as your real estate partner.

I met the Betties at El Azteca for dinner tonight and had my first margarita since the end of August/early September. It was a fun few hours but I felt naked without my new mini permanent attachment!

FPF is back after a brief hiatus.....

1st trip in the Bob ~ Meadowbrook

June 1, 2009

We took Fannie Bradley and the boys on a little stroll around the neighborhood on Monday night in the Bob. We didn't go far as tennis shoes still won't fit on my swollen feet but we were gone for an hour and enjoyed getting fresh air and seeing some of our favorite friends in the neighborhood. FB slept through the entire stroll (no surpise there) except for a brief moment when we had stopped to talk to Aunt Leslie and I guess we had stopped for too long because she let out a yelp to let us know to keep it moving! The Bob will be getting alot of use now that we can be out and about.

FB all strapped in and ready to go

Aunt Leslie

"My 16 day old baby.....

has come down with pink eye in the last hour!"

That was my opening line when I called the pediatrician yesterday at 2:30.

Pediatricians office: Can you be here at 4:00?

Freaked out new mommy: Yes, of course.

How does a newborn baby get pink eye?

Well, they don't. I mean, they can but this isn't pink eye.

Fannie Bradley has a blocked tear duct. Huh?

Her right eye resembles the same yellow gooey crusty mess that we all had growing up with pink eye and it literally appeared out of nowhere in the matter of moments. It is heartbreaking to look at especially when she struggles to open her eye but can't because it is glued shut. Evidently it is very common and nothing to worry about. I am glad we rushed to the pediatrician (4th time in 10 days) though as her eye is so much better today!

So now we use a warm compress to clean her eye off, adminster eye drops 3 times a day (can't decide if giving eye drops to a baby or an eighty pound lab is easier) and are massaging her tear duct.

Why am I sharing this? So that all my new mommy friends can learn from this and that the 99 % of my other friends who will be bearing children in the next 5 years know what to look for!

It is always something and this child is loving keeping us on our toes! Fitting as I expect nothing less from her. ;)
