Spring Break 0-10

The Betties took our annual late Winter trip this past weekend (March 19-21) which happened to fall on the first day of Spring! Instead of heading to the mountains or the lake, we headed to a different lake, Lake Oconee, and stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Lodge at Reynolds Plantation. What started out as one room quickly grew to two as our group got larger. When the first car load of girls checked in, they found that our 2 rooms had been upgraded.....

to this!

our own house with three finished levels and a private pool, on the lake! Not too shabby!

While enjoying some wine on the porch, the doorbell rings.....champagne and truffles were delivered. Really?

This was the name of our cottage...

and it is where all of the Presidents stay when they are in town.

So Friday night we head to the main hotel via our own golf cart

for dinner at Georgia's Bistro.

First stop was the hotel bar

for a round of French Martinis.

After a scumptious dinner, we ordered a fire back at our house

and sipped on champagne.

Then we decided a fire wasn't complete without s'mores, so we ordered some of those!

(terrible pic)

And we roasted s'mores

until they were all gone and it was time to retire to our own bedrooms!

Saturday morning, we went to the Spa and the 5 of us took a private yoga session.

You are lucky I didn't take any pictures. One of the positions resembled the position I was in on May 19, 2009.

After yoga we ate breakfast back at Georgia's then headed to the pool.

Hence the reason for the title of this post. We felt like we were on Spring Break. 0-10.

We lounged all day. Chilaxing.

We ate, we drank. We made friends. We (read: Carrie) won bets.

So this trio of old midwesterners from Ohio were in town on a golf trip. They bet one of their members who was an Army Ranger to jump out of the pool and get to the buoy in the lake and back for $200. They were making a ruckus. Army Ranger jumped in the lake, swam about 10 feet and turned around.

We challenged them then elected Carrie to carry out the duty.

The water was COLD.

Yay Carrie! The entire pool deck was watching and cheering!

And the Ohioans paid up.

Since Katie left late afternoon to rest up for the ING Half Marathon, we called Caelyn and invited her to join us from Athens.

Christopher was on the lake visiting friends so the Brady siblings had a mini family vay cay.

Lindsey, Andrianna, Kyle, Carrie & Caelyn

Saturday Night we had Jimmy, our driver from Long Island, take us to dinner at Cuscowilla.

Another memorable meal. Another memorable trip.

Thanks girls!
