My parents just got word that my nineteen year old cousin, Charles Williamson, was aboard the Concordia ship when it sank on Thursday morning. He is alive. All 64 students and crew were rescued after 16 hours in 4 lifeboats in rough seas. They were found 300 miles off the coast of Rio de Janeiro. They were to arrive in Rio tonight via a Brazilian Navy Ship. He was on a semester long class afloat program.
Charles' mother Caroline and my dad are first cousins.
Wow.
