Sunday

After Church, we headed to the Varsity but we changed things up a bit...

we had curb service!

Fannie Bradley slept through her first curb service experience

After lunch, we headed to Westview Cemetary

We haven't been here since my Grandfather's funeral so we thought it was time for a special visit with the newest member of the family

Fannie sitting between her Great Great Great Grandparents

Fannie Bradley's namesake

Our Fannie B was not a fan of the long grass and wild flowers

It was a beautiful but hot day

(Westview needs a grass cutting!)

We love and miss you, Pap Pap!

We all took an afternoon nap then headed to Fannie's friend, Whit Reynolds, birthday party, followed by a hamburger dinner at Mammie and Granddaddy's house.

A great day spent as a family!

Buckhead Arts Festival

While Daddy and Papa Joe were gun shopping in Athens, Mommy, FB and Grandmommie hit up the first annual Buckhead Arts Festival, held at Chastain. It was fun walking around and looking at all 195 tents with various artists, 90% of which were from Georgia. An easy outing with the babe in the stroller too. We look forward to next year!

Am I really buying....

WHOLE MILK?!?!?!

Is she really drinking whole milk?!?!?!

Friday night we met the Nichols Family at Verde for a fun meal. Sadly, I didn't snap any pictures because we were too busy swiping FB's cheeks! Sweet Emmie was sharing her goldfish with Fannie and Fannie would stuff them into her cheeks as fast as Emmie could hand them to her. Pretty sure we got about 6 out of her cheeks at one time! FB also tried some fried fish (1st time!) pieces dipped in ketchup (1st time!). Well, the fish pieces came back out after she cleaned the ketchup off of them!

After dinner, I ran into the Brookhaven Kroger to buy our first half gallon of whole milk.

And on Saturday, FB had her first sips of whole milk. She of course slurped it down. It is so nice not having to measure out formula anymore!

Anniversary Dinner

We secured a grandmother babysitter and headed out to dinner at Bistro Niko to celebrate our anniversary.

John excited about his steak tartare, that he didn't even have to share with me!

We enjoyed several yummy courses

And an after dinner drink at the bar

Look who was still up when we got home! Our 2009 Anniversary Present!

The gift that keeps on giving!

12 Month Appointment

Fannie Bradley had her 12 month appointment this afternoon.

Here are her stats:

22 pounds 14 ounces (75th percentile)

32 inches (above 95th percentile)

She of course was thrilled to see her little friend in the mirror

We were given the go ahead to start whole milk! NO MORE FORMULA. Seriously, 3 of the best words I have ever heard in my life.

By her next appointment at 15 months, FB should be down to one nap a day in the afternoon (uh, not sure when I am supposed to shower now!)

and

only drinking from sippy cups. We have tried several different styles and brands of sippy cups but think we have found a winner in this Nuby.

We also had a discussion with Dr. Griffith about discipline that went something like this:

Kyle: Can we talk about discipline?

Dr. G: Absolutely

John: There will be NO discipline

Kyle: choking

Dr. G: dying laughing

Bottom line here: I will obviously have to be the one who disciplines the child!

(I think we all knew that anyway!)

We can start giving firm NOs and removing/distracting FB from whatever situation she was in.

This just might be...

the best day in Fannie Bradley's life!

We had some time to kill before heading to Piedmont for FB's 12 month appointment so I pulled into the Fire Station on Wiueca to see if anyone was available to install her new carseat.

Score! This nice fire fighter came to the rescue.

The term rescue isn't used lightly. Someone was busting out of her old carseat!

And that is the Grace SnugRide 32, basically the biggest infant carrier on the market.

Facing forward and couldn't be happier in her new spacious and roomy ride!

Chillaxing, enjoying her new view.

Such a goober, this is my favorite new face of hers.

Oh Happy Day!

Happy 4th!

Today is our 4th Wedding Anniversary. And I am confident in saying that this past year, has been the best, due to our little addition. All forms of love have a new greater and deeper meaning now.

Happy Anniversary, John!

I love U.

Thoughts on Fannie Bradley's Twelfth Month

patting (11 months) ~ FB is a patter. When holding her in your arms or lap, she will pat your arm, leg, shoulder, back, etc.

hands up (11 months) ~ when sliding her tray on her highchair, we say "hands up" and she lifts up her arms so we don't pinch any fingers!

Pulling out hair bows faster than I can put them in! When I put in a bow, I then have to hold down both arms and distract her for a good two minutes if there is any hope for that bow to stay in.

diaper size: 3

favorite body part: nape of her neck, when singing a song and nuzzling in there, she just giggles, giggles, giggles!

nicknames: Toughie Girl, The Fans, Fanster

teeth: 4 on the bottom (all incisors), bottom left (first molar)

clothing size: 18 months - 24 months, all swimwear & cover-ups are a 2T!

shoe size: 3 (but toes are at the end so looks like we are heading to the shoe store soon!)

very ticklish ~ inner thigh and upper rib cage

has learned (by watching) how to use my iphone ~ when she wants to play (pitches a small fit) with my phone, I always put it on the photo roll and scroll through the pics. Well, she now does it herself! That is scary.

sign language: more

Where are your toes? She grabs her toes.

(also knows nose and belly button)

putting hands together to pray and say the blessing ~ BEST THING EVER

Just when I think she is going to be a chill child she will attack one of her toys. And I mean, ATTACK.

Toughie Girl ~ one of John's nicknames as a boy was Toughie because of a snow suit that he had that made him look like the Michelin Man. So when we call FB Toughie, she puts her arms up like so:

changing table olympics ~ FB gets a Gold in gymnastics, We get a bronze in wrestling (if we even get a medal!)

Kiss the baby ~ When we show FB a pic of herself, we say "kiss the baby" and she pulls the pic to her and gives it a good ole slobbery wet kiss!

Fannie, how old are you going to be? She holds up one finger!

Whew, one year down!

Happy 1st Birthday Fannie Bradley!

For Fannie's Birthday dinner, our families headed to Nancy G's.

FB is too busy offering Mommy a puff to pose for the picture!

The birthday girl had a children's vegetable plate that consisted of mac & cheese, green beans and sweet potato smash. The portions could have fed adults.

She made a mess and ate more than any adult at the table. We are continuously amazed at the amount of food this child can put away!

Seeing her first birthday candle

Happy 1st Birthday Baby Girl!

Make a wish, I know what I wished for!

Digging into her smash cake. She did much better this time around, practice makes perfect!

Holy Green Cake, not exactly the hue of green I was hoping for

She enjoyed every minute and bite

Getting some water to help wash down the cake and icing

Our Family ~ May 19, 2010

Can't believe how grown up and mature she looks.
(Sniff Sniff.)
